My passion in learning more about food and health led me to starting The Bento People in 2014. In my experience as a physician, I found it extremely difficult to get my patients to make significant changes to their diet. We Singaporeans live in a food paradise and we Live to Eat. Here, at The Bento People, I get the chance to use another 'language' (food instead of words) to try to encourage people to have greater interest in the relationship between what they eat and wellness.
In the few years where I became a full-time chef accidentally, I threw myself fully into the study of the science of food and health, so much so that now I am no longer full-time chef, I do many other things, but all focusing on the relationship between food and health. Perhaps it would be apt to now change my 'Accidental Chef' nickname to 'Incidental Chef' >>> click here to read the story of how this happened from my blog

I am not endorsing and I do not guarantee that ALL the food served at The Bento People as 'healthy' or 'healthier'.
'Healthy' & 'Healthier' are unhelpful and sometimes even misleading labels. One must know the impact of every single food choice on health and make the correct choices that are relevant and suitable to one's own health and health goals.
The Bento People has as its mission to 'Educate, Encourage its customers towards healthy eating lifestyle of being mindful of healthy proportions, cutting down sugar, taking more vegetables and changing from refined grains to wholegrains, that through its menu offerings Enable its customers to Experience that one can Choose Healthy and yet still Eat Happy.'
